Timeshare Exchange-

We have two time share units registered and deposited with RCI (Resort Condominiums International, Ltd.). We've paid the maintenance fees and submitted the weeks for exchange but are unable to use the exchanges this year for vacation. (We're using our vacation time to go visit friends). These weeks can be searched anywhere in the world. You may go on www.rci.com and look at the units (you may "browse" the units without logging in...) . The price we're charging reimburses us our maintenance fees, pays the exchange fee, plus pays the $50 for your "guest certificate". We've used our exchange weeks dozens of times, and we've always been thrilled with the resorts we've vitied.

If you're interested, you would need to select your destination, then I would place a search in the RCI database. Depending on far in advance I'm planning, they contact me within a week or two with an offer on a unit. We've had great units in the Carribean, Florida, the mountains of NC, Cancun, and even the Canary Islands!

If you don't want the unit they offer, you may decline and they'll continue the search. This price usually runs way less that half the price of a normal rental..... Last year, we had a 2 BR unit near Disney- the posted rate was $1950 per week.. Of course, the more you ask for in amenities, the less the chance of getting it. We usually ask for a unit with full kitchen that sleeps 6; smaller units would be more available in more places... but we've always been able to get what we wanted. And, of course, 5-star units are harder to get than 4 or 3-star units. We've stayed in all three, and have been pleased. You can always look up the resort online before you accept it.

I've used timeshares belonging to other people with the "Guest Certificate" - you're treated exactly like the owner, once you provide the "Guest Certificate'.

Give it a try!

Process- If you want to give it a shot, I'll need you to provide me a destination (and an alternate, if that works). I'll need a credit card number to give to RCI for the search. They won't begin the search without a card number, and they do charge the card $179 when they begin the search; however, if you do not accept the unit they offer and end the search, they credit the full fee.

The balance would need to be paid by cash, money order, or credit card, before you receive the "Guest Certificate."

I've even given an exchange week in our timeshare as a wedding gift, and the couple used it in the Canary Islands for their Honeymoon!
